According to the latest data released by China's General Administration of Customs in August 2025, China's green tea exports to Morocco hit a new historical high in 2025, reaching 90,000 tons with a total value of approximately 250 million US dollars.
This remarkable growth highlights the strong market competitiveness of Chinese green tea in North Africa. Among all exporting provinces, Zhejiang Province, known as China's largest green tea export base, contributed 65,000 tons, accounting for more than 70% of the total exports to Morocco.
The dominant export varieties are Chunmee tea and Gunpowder tea, with the mainstream product numbers 41022 and 9371, which have won the favor of Moroccan consumers for their fresh taste, mellow aroma, and high cost performance.
Morocco has long been China's largest green tea export market, and the continuous growth of exports this year is attributed to two key factors: the stable and reliable quality of Chinese green tea, and the proactive market expansion efforts of Chinese tea enterprises, including strengthened cooperation with local distributors and optimized after-sales services.
This achievement further consolidates the dominant position of Chinese green tea in the North African market and lays a solid foundation for further market expansion.
