After primary processing, the semi-finished tea is refined through sieving, stalk removal, winnowing, sorting and, where required, colour sorting. Different particle sizes and leaf characteristics are separated into commercial grades. Additional firing may be carried out to stabilize moisture and improve keeping quality.

6. Final Quality Control
