Top tea experts: Over 80% enter the front lines of the industry

The National Key Laboratory of Tea Germplasm Innovation and Resource Utilization at Anhui Agricultural University has established a comprehensive talent training system from undergraduate to postdoctoral levels. Over 80% of its graduates in the past five years have entered tea industry research institutions, universities, and leading enterprises. Professor Wei Chao led a team that traveled to 26 counties across 6 cities, collecting 573 tea germplasm resources from remote mountainous areas, building a "gene bank" and constructing 115 core tea germplasm samples. After 20 years of dedicated research, the team successfully developed China's first automated production line for premium green tea, transforming the process from "hand-frying" to "one-click tea production," rewriting the history of premium green tea processing in China.
