From A Moroccan Elder's Teapot, Seeing The Far Horizon Of Chinese Tea

The other day, I stumbled upon a video on my phone. It showed a Moroccan elder brewing a rich, fragrant mint tea using Chinese green tea. In that moment, I suddenly understood what it means that "the fragrance of tea knows no borders."

In the video, a Moroccan elder sat in his courtyard. Beside him was a bag of chunmee tea from China. He placed the leaves into a small teapot, steeped them in boiling water, then added generous handfuls of fresh mint and several cubes of sugar. With a practiced hand, he poured the tea from a great height-the liquid arced through the air in a golden stream, landing perfectly into tiny waiting glasses. This was his most important daily ritual: brewing, pouring, and sharing tea with family and friends.

In the comments section, Moroccan friends enthusiastically shared their own family's tea-making habits. Some preferred more mint, others a stronger brew. But one thing remained constant: they all used Chinese green tea. That sense of familiarity and connection was palpable, even through the screen.

It made me think of the scenes in our own factory. Our workers carefully sort through every leaf of Chunmee tea and Gunpowder tea, ensuring the tightly rolled Chunemee tea and gunpowder tea are perfectly round, and the slender chunmee tea leaves are uniformly shaped. We never truly know the final scenes where our tea will be enjoyed. But seeing the focused expression of that Moroccan elder in the video, we could imagine it becoming part of an afternoon filled with the scent of mint and the sound of laughter-a bond between people.

In truth, this connection has existed for a long time. The Moroccan people have taken Chinese tea and woven it into their own unique tea culture, making green tea an indispensable part of their daily lives. And we, as a Chinese green tea factory, see our role as strengthening this woven bond a little further-by sending our very best teas into the teapots of our Moroccan friends.

Watching the steaming mint tea in that video, I thought: perhaps this is the true mission of tea. It travels thousands of miles to foreign lands, integrates into local customs and ways of life, and becomes a cherished part of people's days. And we, who dedicate our lives to tea, find our own purpose within this mission-by carefully crafting every leaf, we help make this connection richer, smoother, and more enduring.
