According to customs statistics, from January to August 2024, China's tea exports amounted to 236100 tons, with a value of 905 million US dollars and an average price of 3.8 US dollars per kilogram, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%, 21.8%, and 21.5%, respectively.
The export of green tea (203600 tons), jasmine tea (4555 tons), and black tea (343 tons) in various tea categories has shown an upward trend, with the largest increase in black tea reaching 86%; The export volume, amount, and average price of other types of tea have shown varying degrees of decline. The export volume (107 tons) and export value (930000 US dollars) of other flower teas have decreased the most by 46.5% and 71.5%, respectively, while the export average price of white tea (14.3 US dollars/kg) has decreased the most by 53.8%.
The top 10 tea export markets are Morocco, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Russia, Mauritania, Senegal, Algeria, Japan, the United States, and Niger. The export volume (49200 tons) and amount (147 million US dollars) to Morocco showed the largest year-on-year growth, reaching 48.3% and 45.8% respectively; The export volume (7385 tons) and amount (26.48 million US dollars) to Algeria experienced the largest decline, at 48.5% and 46.1%, respectively.
