Core Production Areas and Industrial Foundation of Gunpowder and Chunmee Teas

  The traditional core production area for Gunpowder tea is Pingshui in Shaoxing, Zhejiang (also known as Pingshui Gunpowder), while Shengzhou, Yuyao, and Shangyu serve as the primary modern production bases. Chunmee tea production is more widely distributed, with large-scale growing regions located across Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi. Zhejiang-produced Gunpowder and Chunmee teas account for over 70% of China's total green tea exports, serving as the key supply source for the tea trade with North and West Africa.
