For overseas suppliers, an import market should be approached through a defined application rather than a broad promise of demand. CTMA reports September imports of 4,947 tonnes, down 19.36% year on year, with average unit value of US$3.51/kg, up 13.08%.

Procurement decision

Submit a small, relevant sample set with batch identity and preparation instructions. Ask whether the intended use is retail leaf, foodservice extraction or blending, and establish the importer's documentation and testing scope before special packaging is produced. Discuss reorder lead time and minimum quantities early. A successful sample has limited value if later batches cannot reproduce the approved performance or fit the buyer's working-capital cycle.
