According to customs data, in 2025, China's mainland tea exports reached 418,800 tons, with an export value of approximately US$1.546 billion, representing year-on-year increases of 11.9% and 8.9% respectively. The average price was US$3.69 per kilogram, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%.

Among all types of tea, green tea (369,000 tons), black tea (25,900 tons), scented tea (7,700 tons), and white tea (500 tons) all saw year-on-year growth in exports, with green tea showing the largest increase at approximately 13.9%.

The top 10 tea export markets are Morocco, Uzbekistan, Senegal, Mauritania, Ghana,Côte d'Ivoire, Russia, Algeria, Chad, and Japan. Exports to Ivory Coast saw the largest year-on-year increases in both volume (16,700 tons) and value (US$71.1212 million), at 300.4% and 310.9% respectively; while exports to Ghana saw the largest year-on-year decreases in both volume (18,100 tons) and value (US$72.3872 million), at 53.2% and 52.9% respectively.
