In fresh tea leaves, water and dry matter are the two major components. Among them, moisture accounts for about 75% and dry matter accounts for about 25%. From the data, it can be seen that theoretically, 500 grams of dry tea requires 2000 grams of fresh leaves.
Why is it said to be theoretical? Because finished tea also has a certain moisture content. Generally, black tea does not exceed 13%, while green tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, and black tea generally have a moisture content of no more than 7%.
