Recently, it has been sunny and hot in Hangzhou, and the tea trees in the West Lake Longjing tea primary reserve are facing the double test of high temperature and drought. What's going on now?
Plant protection workers in villages of Xihu street, a comprehensive scenic spot, reported that most of the tea trees were growing well.
Covered with black yarn and watered in the morning,
Reasonable maintenance helps West Lake Longjing resist drought
Only gujiajing in Maojiabu village, near Chabo in Shuangfeng Village, near Lingyin north peak and other flat tea gardens, especially a few tea trees near both sides of the road, have red leaves. Especially in the gujiajing tea garden in Maojiabu, a very small number of sunburned tea leaves appear to break when pinched.
The street staff rushed to the scene at the first time and confirmed with the village cadres that the current damaged tea land area is about 5 mu. Most of them are newly planted tea trees five or six years ago, which are still in their infancy and have shallow roots. Some time ago, the rainstorm scoured, the soil loss was serious, the floating roots were exposed, and after the continuous exposure of the sun, it was common for young trees to have their leaves scorched red.
According to the field observation, in the two adjacent rows of tea trees in the same plot, the black yarn covered part grows well, and the tea trees exposed to the sun are seriously scorched, forming an obvious huge contrast.
Lin Chen, deputy director of the street cultural heritage Office (Doctor of tea science of Zhejiang University), said:
In the same region, the difference between the tea trees of the same variety after suffering from drought and heat is so obvious. Excluding the factors of the ecological environment of the tea garden and the underground soil conditions we can't see, the tea farmers' own field management measures are particularly important. Improper management of tea gardens, especially picking tea and pruning tea trees during high temperature and drought, will cause serious dehydration after the incision is scorched, which will directly affect the current appearance of the whole tree and the number of germination in the next year.
Reasonable maintenance can make Longjing tea grow better in the coming year. For example, since last week, farmers have successively set up shading nets for tea trees in wengjiashan, and a few farmers will water their tea trees in the evening.
Wengjiashan tea farmer Sun Bin said:
Now there is not much watering. Our family is a little closer to the tea garden, so we started it first. But if there is still no sufficient rainfall in the next week, the whole village will move.
