At 9:00 a.m. local time on September 9 (early morning of September 10 Beijing time), the 5504TEU container ship "Mississippi" operated by ZIM Shipping and flying the Portuguese flag (255 meters in length and 37.3 meters in width, departed Shenzhen Yantian Port on August 26, and was originally expected to arrive on September 9) lost balance during unloading operations at Pier G of the Port of Long Beach in Los Angeles, causing 67 containers to fall into the sea (shoes, clothing and other consumer goods can be seen floating), about 70 containers to collapse on the ship, and also hit the small barge "STAX 2" nearby; it has been confirmed that there are no casualties or pollution reports. The port and police have set up a safe isolation area and suspended all operations at Pier G. The emergency team is salvaging the fallen containers and cleaning up the scene. The U.S. Coast Guard is leading the investigation into the accident.
